Ireland Music Week Announces Conference Partners, and Second Round of International Delegates
Ireland Music Week (IMW) are delighted to announce that three new music industry partners: CD Baby, Andrson, and Budget Music Videos, have come on board to support the IMW conference to help with business and artist development. They join long-standing supporters The Arts Council, Culture Ireland and Dublin City Council Local Enterprise Office, and media partner RTE 2FM.
IMW has also announced a second round of international delegates who will speak at the conference and the showcases. The event will be Ireland’s largest gathering of bookers, labels, managers, music supervisors, radio folk and journalists from around the world, and here at home. The five-day program will see a mixture of workshops, discussions, and panels for artists across all levels. Tickets are available on EventBrite at https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/ireland-music-week-tickets-64779562415.
Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact said: “We knew our ambition to grow from a three day artist-centered event to a five day business and artists event would need the support of the wider music industry from partners whose ambition matched ours. We are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received from the music and music tech industry, and local and national government support for Ireland Music Week 2019. With the support of our partners, we’ll expand the breadth of our professional development offerings for artists and those who work with them, as well as showcase those artists to a global audience.”
CD Baby Artist Bursary
Online music distribution powerhouse CD Baby has partnered with Ireland Music Week to support the professional development of Irish artists. All 50 IMW showcasing artists will receive a CD Baby distribution package, and one showcasing artist will win a CD Baby Artist Bursary. The €2500 grant will provide one band or solo artist with the time and resources to develop their artistic practice, as well as mentoring and a comprehensive artist services package from CD Baby to support them every step of the way. The winning act will be selected by international industry delegates attending Ireland Music Week from among the 50 showcasing artists. At the conference, CD Baby will also offer workshops not only for artists, but also for labels and managers, covering a breadth of topics for the independent musician.
Rich Orchard, Director of European Market Development at CD Baby, said: “Having recently opened our first European office, we’re delighted to partner with Ireland Music Week this year as part of their biggest annual event yet. We’re going to shine a spotlight on all 50 of these wonderful showcasing artists, and I look forward to charting the development of our inaugural IMW bursary winner. As well as preferred distribution to digital stores, we’ll be offering IMW artists best-in-class services across publishing admin, digital marketing, video monetization and sync representation; doing all we can to help support this stage in their careers.”
